Only five months after last year’s Thailand Junior Championship, our team headed to Ayutthaya for the 2022 National Championship. An impressive number of 18 players traveled north, some looking to become Thailand Champions, others to play their first championship.
In the end we are coming back with seven trophies and three medals, while four of our youngsters can proudly call themselves THAILAND CHAMPIONS.
Big congratulations to Nina, who became THAILAND CHAMPION for girls under 14, and won a combined G14+G16+G18 group with a perfect 9/9 score. This shows the amazing progress that she made with hard work and dedication. Well done Nina!
Big Congratulations to Dhi, who defended his THAILAND CHAMPION title in U14. Although not as easy as in the last championship that ended six months ago, Dhi still made the effort that was necessary and secured first place.
Big congratulations also to Kate, who became THAILAND CHAMPION for girls under 12 years, with a perfect 5/5 score. Awesome job Kate!
Big congratulations to our little Proud, on becoming a THAILAND CHAMPION for girls under 8 years, and also to Ava on grabbing the 1st RUNNER Up trophy in the same competition. The future is theirs!
Congratulations also to Rafael, who was 1st Runner Up in under 12 competition and to Faris, 2nd Runner Up in U16, although these were not the results they were aiming for. Congratulations to Pine, who made a huge progress from his first championship six months ago and was playing with the strongest players in U16 with confidence and determination to make a result. In the end he won the 4th Runner Up medal. Congratulations to MM and Haru, also 4th Runner Ups in U10 and U8 age groups.
Congratulations also to Leo, JJ and Keith who gave their best and gained experience in their first championship ever. Kudos to Pac, who moved to a stronger age group and was fighting well with more experienced opponents. Congrats to Ninja and Tada on their solid performances in U16 and U14. Good job to Anda who has everything he needs to become a strong chess player and to Kita, who is not an active chess player but he still joined the arena and gave his best against the strong competition.
Big thanks to our wonderful chess parents community on making the time and effort to support the children in Ayutthaya. This journey was a great experience and motivation for everyone, and we cannot wait for the next chance to do this again!
Congratulations to TCA for the excellent organization and thanks to Khun Suchart for many wonderful photos from the tournament venue and the awarding ceremony.
