Congratulations to our U18 and U15 teams on their THAILAND CHESS CHAMPIONS titles! Congratulations to the rest of our 11 teams and 33 players on the many awards won and the wonderful efforts and team spirit during the tournament! All of us at Red Knight Chess Club are proud to have such great and smart young players!
In the U18 age group, the team made of Faris, Ian and Pine, had very little to worry about. With 8 wins and 1 draw, they secured the Champion title in style. In the U15 age group, our team made of Anda, Pac and Janice won, even without the help of our heavy artillery, Nina and Kate, who are currently representing Thailand National Women’s Team in the World Olympiad in Budapest, Hungary. A well deserved victory for our U15 team who were pressured by the opponents, but they played consistently and did not allow surprises.
We also signed up three all-girls team, one in the U18 category and two teams in the U10 category. In the end, the U18 team made of Richily, Hanna and Fah and the U10 team made of Proud, Evie and Ava won the BEST GIRLS Team awards.
In U12, Gavin, Sea and Yuu won the 2nd Runner-up trophy, and although not the result that they were expecting, they can be proud of their first-time team performance together. Our 2nd U12 team landed in the middle of the table.
As for U10, with 4 boys teams and 2 girls teams in it, we had tons of fun, often our teams battling each other and often with surprising results, such as our Girls Power team winning our Wizards! The Wizards Team made of Chin, Newyear and Pordee won the 1st Runner-up trophy.
In the end, those were some exciting days at Gateway Ekkamai. Thanks to all the families who took time to bring the children for this event. The next big event is the Thai-Chinese School Chess Championship on September 29th. See you all there!
