Join us every Saturday from 19:00 to 22:00 at our Chess Café for a relaxed night of chess, fun, and friendly competition.
From 20:00 to 21:30, we host Casual Blitz Tournaments, open to everyone!
What is a “Casual Blitz Tournament”?
Our casual blitz tournament is non-FIDE rated, played in 7 rounds under the Swiss system, with a time control of 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment per move.
We follow the FIDE Laws of Chess, but the focus is on fun and enjoyment rather than strict enforcement. That means:
- No extra time will be added for illegal moves.
- We’re relaxed about things like using two hands or small casual mistakes, especially from beginners or players new to over-the-board chess.
Who can join?
Anyone who knows the basic rules of chess is welcome! You’ll find players of all levels here—ranging from beginners to, occasionally, masters of the game.
Why join?
- It’s fun, friendly, and social.
- The winner gets a 300 baht voucher!
- Best of all, the event is completely FREE.
We do encourage everyone to support the Chess Café by ordering some food and/or drinks during the evening—after all, good chess goes well with good company (and snacks!).
How to register?
Joining our next Casual Blitz Tournament is easy—just arrive between 19:00 and 19:45 and register at the front desk with one of our staff. That’s it!
- The tournament starts at 20:00 and usually finishes around 21:30.
Sometimes it ends a little earlier or later, but the Café stays open until 22:00, so you can always enjoy some extra casual games afterwards. - On busy weeks, the tournament may reach full capacity, so we recommend coming early to secure your spot.
- We can accommodate up to 26 players at once—registration is first come, first served.
If you arrive late, don’t worry—you can still join from the next round.
Likewise, if you’d like to leave early or only play a few rounds, we can remove you from the player list at any time.
