Choochoo Wins Central Pattaya

It was a wonderful weekend in Pattaya for our team! The boys and girls played well, we celebrated 3 Champions and we collected many awards. All congratulations to Choochoo on his amazing performance and winning the OPEN with a perfect 9/9 score! Just last week he won a tournament with 5/5, making a run of 14 consecutive winning games. Impressive!

Congratulations to Nina on winning the U16 category! Playing her first tournament since February, she had some ups and downs but when it mattered the most, she showed confidence and courage. Well done Nina!

Congratulations to Tonnaaw for winning his 3rd U12 tournament in a row! More difficult than expected, but Tonnaaw never gives up until the end!

Congratulations also to Richily, for the fantastic performance in the OPEN category where she was best female player and 4th place overall! She faced older and stronger competition, and she played fearlessly until the end, winning more than 70 rating points.

Congrats also to Sean who tied for 1st place with 6/7 points in U10, winning the 1st Runner Up trophy. Great job Sean!

The rest of the team also deserves praise. Pac, who won a 3rd Runner Up medal in U12, Alex on his debut – playing his first official chess tournament ever, Daniel on his comeback in chess, giving his best in every game, and of course Ninja, Nicolas and Ian who were not going for trophies in the age groups, but for a challenge in the OPEN category.

Thanks to our wonderful chess parents community for supporting the kids in this event, and to the organizers on the very good organization!
