We are happy to invite all players to our Chess Cafe First Year Anniversary Tournament, that will take place on August 24th. It has been one year since the Chess Cafe was opened, bringing pure joy and happiness to chess players and fans in Bangkok. We want to celebrate this with our wonderful chess community. We will host three tournaments:
- FIDE Rated Rapid Tournament, 10:00-17:00
- FIDE Rated Blitz Tournament, 18:00-20:00
- Unrated Age Group Tournament, 10:00-17:00
Please go through this long post carefully. You will find two separate registration forms. The first one is for the FIDE Rapid & Blitz tournaments. The second one is for the Age Group tournament. Please make sure that you register for the competition that you intend to play.
The FIDE Rated Rapid is for players who have FIDE Ratings. A smaller number of unrated players will be allowed to participate, giving them a chance to win their first ratings. However, a FIDE Id number is mandatory for all players. Any unrated players who wish to join but do not have FIDE Id numbers, please contact us for assistance.
The FIDE Rated tournament are open for players of all age. Beginners are advised not to take part in it. FIDE laws of chess will be strictly applied, and all players are expected to be familiar with it. Below you will find the Registration Form, as well as the Tournament Regulations.

Red Knight Chess Club has the honor to invite you to the First Year Anniversary FIDE Rated & Blitz Championships that will take place at Red Knight Chess Club & Cafe, located on Sukhumvit Soi 26 in Bambini Villa.
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 The tournaments will take place at Bambini Villa, which is located on Sukhumvit Soi 26.
1.2 All players who have FIDE Id Numbers are eligible to play. However, the organizer keeps the right to refuse entry to a player without necessarily providing a reason.
1.3 Unrated players who do not have a FIDE Id Number yet but they wish to play, can contact the organizer for assistance.
1.4 The number of players is limited due to the capacity of the playing area and the registrations will be closed once the maximum number of players will be reached.
1.5 FIDE Laws of Chess will apply. Players are expected to be familiar with the FIDE Laws of Chess.
2. SYSTEM AND TIME CONTROL
2.1 The pairings will be done with the Swiss Manager program. The tournaments will be played by Swiss Pairing System.
2.2 The time control for the Rapid Tournament is 15 minutes per player with 5 seconds of increment per move. The time control for the Blitz Tournament is 3 minutes per player with 2 seconds of increment per move.

3.2 BLITZ CHAMPIONSHIP

3.3 IMPORTANT:
Players are obligated to arrive on time and to confirm their presence for both tournaments in the time frame that is allocated for this in the schedule. Players who will arrive after the pairings are made will have to skip the first round.
4. AWARDS
4.1 The prize fund for the Rapid Tournament will be 30,000 baht, divided in 6 prizes:
10,000 baht - Champion
6,000 baht - 2nd place
4,500 baht - 3rd place
3,000 baht - 4th place
2,000 baht - 5th place
1,500 baht - 6th place
1,500 baht - Best Junior player (Born 2007 or later)
1,500 baht - Best Player rated below 1800 RAPID FIDE , or unrated. Eligibility for this award:
- Players with RAPID FIDE Ratings below 1800, regardless of their Standard FIDE Rating.
- Players who do not have a Rapid FIDE Rating, but have a Standard
FIDE rating below 1800.
- Players who don’t have both Rapid and Standard FIDE Ratings.
- Blitz FIDE Ratings are irrelevant for this purpose.
- The eligibility will be based on the August 1st FIDE Rating List.
- One player can win only one award.
4.2 The prize fund for the Blitz Tournament will be 5000 THB, divided in 4 prizes:
2,000 baht - Champion
1,500 baht - 2nd place
1,000 baht - 3rd place
500 baht – Best Junior player (Born 2007 or later)
5. REGISTRATION FEES
5.1 REGISTRATION FEES STRUCTURE FOR THE RAPID TOURNAMENT
- Players with Rapid FIDE Rating of 2300 points or above, FREE Entry
- Players with Rapid FIDE Rating from 2200 to 2299, 400 baht
- Players with Rapid FIDE Rating from 2000 to 2199, 600 baht
- Players with Rapid FIDE Rating from 1800 to 1999, 800 baht
- Players rated below 1800, 1000 baht
- Unrated players, 1200 baht
- Players who don't have Rapid FIDE rating, but have Standard FIDE rating, will enter with their Standard FIDE rating.
- Players who have only Blitz FIDE rating will be considered unrated.
5.2 REGISTRATION FEE FOR THE BLITZ TOURNAMENT
- 300 baht for all players regardless of rating.
6. REGISTRATION PROCESS, PAYMENT AND REFUND POLICY
6.1 In order to submit the registration, you will need to upload the proof of payment in the registration form. You can upload a screenshot, a photo or a pdf file of the pay slip. You will not be able to submit the Registration Form without uploading the proof of payment.

6.3 The organizer will close the registration when the maximum capacity of the playing area will be reached.
6.4 The registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
7. PERMISSIONS
7.1 By registering for the tournament, you give consent that your face may appear on a promotional photo or video materials that will be published on our website and/or social media pages. Where this applies to a minor, the parents give consent by submitting the registration form.

Please find the information about the Age Group Tournament below:
The Age Group tournament will be open for children born 2009 and younger. This tournament will not be FIDE Rated. The children can join one of the following categories:
U08 – born 2017, or later
U10 – born 2015/2016
U12 – born 2013/2014
U16 – born 2009/2010/2011/2012
Please note: players can choose to play in higher category if they wish to do that. For example, a player born 2016, who should play in the U10 group, can choose to play in U12 or U16 instead.
The schedule and the time control will be the same with the FIDE Rated Rapid tournament.
We will award the top 3 players in each category with trophies. Medals will be awarded to the 3rd and 4th runners-up in each category.
