A Team to be Proud of!

Thailand Junior Chess Championship for 2025 finished, after 5 days of long and exhausting battles on the chess boards but with camaraderie and unforgettable moments in-between the games. Our club is proud to have such a beautiful chess community, with talented children who are passionate about becoming strong chess players, and with parents who are supporting their children every step of the way. Not surprisingly, the results are there: 4 new champions, 11 trophies, 3 medals, proving that RKCC Team is firmly on the top.

With 30 players in the championship and 14 awards won, it would be a difficult and lengthy task to write about each of our juniors individually, although without a doubt they all deserve our utmost admiration and praise for the way that they were fighting on the chess board. Their dedication and efforts showed that they have been learning from each other, and were trying to represent the team in the best possible light. Many of our youngsters played games that lasted longer than 3 hours, even if for some of them this was their first experience in “classical time control” competition.

In the end, this tournament really belonged to the girls! With 4 CHAMPION titles, the girls were a real powerhouse. The boys did well, and although some of them did not reached their goals, the experience helped them improve a great deal and next time to handle the critical moments better. Big congratulations to all our players on winning their awards:

A special congratulations to our 13 year old Kate, that not only won another champion title in junior competition, but she fought for another 5 days in the Thailand’s Chess Championship for Women and finished 2nd! Amazing job, Kate!

The biggest thanks goes to our brilliant parent’s community! Without your help and support, none of this would be possible. Thank you for always supporting the children and bringing out the best in them!

Until the next time!
