The Thailand Chess Championship finished yesterday, and the Blue Chevaliers International Tournament ended today. Red Knight players did very well. Big congratulations to Kob-ngern Reakwiree on her amazing performance on the Thailand Women Championship, where she won the 3rd place!
Our Chiang Mai youngster Faris did well in the national tournament, considering the long break from active playing. He got 4.5 points and earned 19 rating points.
On the Blue Chevaliers tournament, our youngsters did very well too. Nicolas won the Best Junior award, closely followed by Ian who won the second junior prize. Richily won the best female award. They won medals and cash prizes, and earned rating points. Our youngest player Yudai was the one who earned the most – 60 new rating points will go next to his name! And Alex, who played only his second tournament on a standard time control, will be happy on December 1st when he will become a FIDE rated player!
Congratulations to the organizers, the Thailand Chess Association (TCA) and the Blue Chevaliers team for organizing these competitions that were very much needed.
