A good choice for most of us Dec 12, 2009 I've only had this clock for a little while, but I've been very happy with it. It looks good, feels solid, and has a lot of nice options. It's not in the same league with the high end Chronos clocks, but if you're a casual player who isn't playing in tourneys constantly this should be more than sufficient.
While looking over some other reviews on other sites, I noticed that there were a few people who thought it a little hard to understand how to set it up right away. While I'm willing to say that it isn't 100% intuitive, it's not hard either. I had it figured out (with a little help from the user manual) in less than 10 minutes. After only a few uses, it's second nature.
This is the first digital clock I've owned and I don't see myself going back to the analog ones. The read-out is easy to see from all angles and is large enough that you can see your time with a glance.
So there you go. Consider this clock to be a good middle ground option between the cheap ones and the ones that might be out of your price range (or needs).

Poor clock, and ChessCentral is a poor seller Nov 18, 2009 The clock works, but the display is incredibly difficult to read from an angle, which means you spend more time squinting at the readout and worrying about how much time you have left then you do playing chess. It reminds me of the very first digital watches where you couldn't quite tell if it was a zero or an eight because the middle line was sort of dimmed but not totally.
Also, ChessCentral is a horrible vendor. I would never buy anything from them. I returned this clock and they only refunded me $15.

Very good Sep 09, 2008 This clock is perfect, you can configure in diferents options, have a manual very explicative.
Digital is better what analog because is exact, precise. One secund can determine a game. It have light and sound, you dispose in off or on each option.

Good beginner clock Jun 25, 2008 This is a good beginner clock that will last a long time. The buttons have a solid feel, the interface is easy to figure out and there are a lot of built-in settings good for everything from blitz to USCF rated tournaments. It also is capable of operating silently or with sound. It would benefit from a few more user programmable settings (there are only three open configurations to put user settings into), but other than that it is so far a great clock.

Solid, learnable, easy to use Apr 06, 2008 This is the first chess timer I've owned. I'm using it to build my son's experience with timed and untimed games. This timer, including the stop buttons, is hefty, well-constructed and very solid.
The user interface isn't readily intuitive, but can be mastered in 10-15 minutes with the help of the instruction manual. There are extensive programming options for the hardcore player. My son and I use the timer with enjoyment for 5-15 minute speed games.
