This novel and unusual instructional video, winner of four Gold prizes, is taught by Josh Waitzkin - one of the most brilliant and charismatic young chess players in America - and his teacher, Bruce Pandolfini both made world-famous by the Paramount film SEARCHING FOR BOBBY FISCHER. Using a new and fresh approach, the game of Chess is taught from the unusual position of checkmate - the ultimate move in this old game. Josh and Bruce move easily through the intricate moves and rules of the game, regaling the viewer with interesting real-life anecdotes and clear and exciting graphics that simply and pointedly explain the complex moves and turns of the pieces on the board. The DVD is menu and chapter driven to easily choose the lessons. It also includes Spanish subtitles, extra material on Josh and Bruce, and stills of some of the highlights of Joshs accomplishments.
